Frequently asked questions
How much does a website from bauwau cost?
Packages start at €899 for a professional one-page site. Most small businesses choose the Standard package at €1,299. You pay a one-off fixed price for the build.
How long until my website is online?
Between 2 and 6 weeks depending on the package. It mostly depends on how quickly you answer a short checklist about your business and give feedback.
What ongoing costs are there?
To stay online, fast and secure, a website needs a technical foundation and someone who looks after it: hosting, SSL encryption, backups, security checks and quick help if something stops working. Your website runs on your own hosting account. We set it up together with you. For a typical local business website, the provider's free plan is currently enough; any hosting fees would be paid directly to the provider. That way your website is 100 % yours. For €19.99 a month, our Website Service looks after running it: uptime monitoring, regular backups, security checks, your domain, SSL and email connection, a monthly website report, email support and one small change a month (up to 15 min, e.g. opening hours, prices or one image). Larger changes are billed by the hour (€85) or covered by Care Active or Plus. For comparison: a website builder often costs €20–40 a month depending on the plan, and you still look after upkeep and security yourself. A classic WordPress site typically adds a maintenance contract of €50–100 a month on top of hosting. Our websites need no plugins and no content management system, so there's very little to maintain. Cancellable monthly (4 weeks' notice to the end of a month). Your domain is extra (about €10–15 a year).
Do you offer care after launch?
Yes. After launch every website runs on Website Service at €19.99 a month, including monitoring, backups, a monthly website report and one small change a month (up to 15 min). If you have regular changes, you can upgrade: Care Active at €59, with up to 1 hour of changes per month and replies within 24 hours. Care Plus at €99, with up to 2 hours of changes, a monthly SEO & performance check and Google Business Profile upkeep. Larger one-off changes without Care Active or Plus are billed by effort (€85 per hour).
Can I have my website changed later?
Yes, any time. Send us changes by email or WhatsApp, such as new prices, images, opening hours or news, and we update them quickly. One small change a month (up to 15 min, e.g. opening hours, prices or one image) is included in Website Service. Beyond that, changes are included from Care Active (€59 a month), otherwise billed by effort (€85 per hour).
Will people find me on Google?
Every site is built to be technically clean for search engines. From the Standard package, we also optimise for your city and neighbourhood. Setting up your Google Business Profile, the biggest lever for local searches, is available as an add-on.
Do you work with clients outside Germany?
Yes. Our studio is in Frankfurt am Main, but we work fully remotely: video call, email and WhatsApp. We work in English and schedule calls in your time zone.
How do I pay?
After the intro call you get a binding fixed-price quote in euros. You pay by bank transfer (SEPA or international transfer) before we start.
